Our Story
Welcome to the Heaton Ranch, where the rugged beauty of Southern Utah's forested canyons meets the warm embrace of family tradition. Nestled in the heart of this stunning landscape, our family-owned ranch is more than just a destination – it's a haven for creating lasting memories, fostering connections, and rejuvenating the spirit.
The Ranch was originally purchased by Charles and Maggie Heaton as a summer cattle range, but as the cattle business declined the ranch began to be utilized for family to come stay a few days, relax and reconnect.
For generations, our family has cherished this land, cultivating a deep appreciation for its natural wonders and the sense of belonging it inspires. With each passing year, as the family continues to grow, it has become necessary to schedule reservations to allow as many people as possible time here.
Surrounded by towering trees, babbling streams, and breathtaking vistas, our accommodations blend rustic charm with modern comforts, ensuring that every moment of your stay is both authentic and unforgettable.
As stewards of this land, we are committed to preserving its beauty for future generations to enjoy. The rental charge is to cover operation and maintenance expenses only.

Our Accommodations
Welcome to our cozy haven at the Heaton Ranch, where comfort meets rustic charm. Our accommodations are designed to cater to families, groups large and small seeking a retreat from the ordinary.
The Ranch House: Step into a home away from home with our spacious ranch house. Boasting several bedrooms, a kitchen, one full bath, and a welcoming living/dining room, it's the perfect gathering spot.
The A-Frame: Nestled right next to the pond, our charming A-frame offers a unique lodging experience. Spread across three levels, the upper two floors are dedicated to cozy sleeping areas, dormitory style as well as a private room. The A-Frame also has a kitchen, one full and one half bath and a large family room area with several couches.
The Cabin: Tucked away in a secluded corner of the ranch, our quaint cabin features three bedrooms, a small kitchenette and one bathroom with a separate shower room. Unwind on the front porch as you take in the sights and sounds of the forest, or watch the kids play in the pond.
Tent and RV Camping: For those who prefer the great outdoors, our expansive back pasture area provides ample space for RV’s, while there is plenty of space on the back lawn for tent camping and activities. While we don't offer hookups for RVs, our picturesque surroundings more than make up for it.

The Ponds: Cool off on a hot summer day with a refreshing dip in one of our two ponds. Perfect for swimming, splashing, or simply lounging by the water's edge, these natural oases offer a welcome respite from the heat. Let the kids explore the shallows or paddle around in a boat, or simply soak up the serenity as you watch the sunlight dance across the water. Please no fishing in the ponds for the safety of all swimmers.
Exploration: Lace up your hiking boots and set out to explore the surrounding wilderness. With miles of pristine trails at your doorstep, there's no shortage of natural beauty to discover. Whether you're trekking through lush forests, meandering alongside babbling streams, or summiting rugged peaks, every step offers a new opportunity for adventure and discovery.
National Parks: Within a couple hours travel from Heaton Ranch, you'll find yourself amidst some of the most iconic landscapes in the country. From the towering hoodoos of Bryce Canyon to the majestic vistas of Zion National Park, the beauty of Southern Utah's national treasures awaits your exploration.
